The One Million Leaders Africa (OMLA) Fellowship Program is an initiative that aims to train and mentor young African talents in aspects of leadership, sustainability, social innovation, and social entrepreneurship. The program has several key components:
- Training: OMLA Fellows receive a two-month training in the mentioned aspects.
- Mentorship: After their training, each fellow trains and mentors fifty other young people (Stars), who aspire to create social projects within their communities.
- Community Projects: The Stars in turn train other young people (Starlets), who will run community projects during a one-year fellowship.
- Alumni Community: After completing the fellowship, Fellows become part of the OMLA Alumni community, a support network for One Million Leaders Africa.
The OMLA Fellowship Program is open to young people who want to be part of the OMLA movement of 1 million young Africans that will guide Africa to a better future by 2030. The program offers professional development support, including mentorship and a $500 for professional development support (given at the successful completion of the fellowship year).
Eligibility for the program includes being under 40 years of age, based in Africa, fluent in English, having reliable access to a fast and stable internet connection, and being able to commit at least one year as an OMLA Fellow. The application process for the 2024 OMLA Fellowship Program is open, with a deadline of January 20, 2024.
