Job Description
● Interpret welding process specifications
● Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
● Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
● Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
● Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
● Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
● Determine weldability of materials
● Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
● Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
● Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
● Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
Experience can be flexible if they have exp in some aspects but not in others, education or certification in the field is an asset.
Tools are provided by the company at 90%, the other 10% if the worker wishes to
purchase his own tools. Helmets are not usually provided but the employer could help with that (payroll deductions might apply).
Uniforms provided at no cost - safety coveralls (provided on a weekly basis). voucher for
a pair of boots every year to help with its cost.
Requirements:
1. Education: Completion of high school is required. Trade courses are an asset
2. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in welding is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate OR Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program is required.
3. Training will be provided - in-hour or out-of-house training, hands-on training.
4. Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge is required. (properly start and shut the machine,
5. working with the tools safely, not scared of using new tools) Working Conditions and
6. Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, standing for extended periods, work under pressure, tight deadlines, a combination of sitting, standing, walking, working at heights
7. Personal suitability: Organized, effective interpersonal skills, team player, excellent oral communication, initiative, accurate, judgment.
Salary: $30.00 hourly, 40 - 45 hours per week.

Important information
Flexibility on schedule is required. The candidate will work Monday Through Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Overtime (extended hours) may be required based on the business needs. Potential schedule in the afternoon depending on the business needs - Monday to Thursdays.
