The U.S. Department of State Paid Student Internship Program for the Fall of 2024 is currently accepting applications from U.S. citizen students who are passionate about U.S. foreign policy. Duties:
- Interns will participate in meetings with senior-level U.S. Government or foreign government officials.
- They will draft, edit, and contribute to various materials used in furthering U.S. foreign policy objectives.
- Interns may support events, including international and/or multilateral meetings and conferences.
- They will engage directly with U.S. and foreign audiences to explain the work of the U.S. Department of State and promote understanding of U.S. culture and society.
- Some routine administrative work may also be required.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
- Minimum age requirement is 18 years old at the time of application.
- Applicants must be in good academic standing with at least a 3.2 GPA or higher.
- Candidates must be pursuing an associate, bachelor, or graduate degree and plan to return to their academic program upon completion of the internship.
- Undergraduate applicants should have at least 60 credit hours earned at the start of the internship, while graduate applicants are also eligible.
- Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited academic institution on at least a part-time basis at the time of application.
- Previous participation in the U.S. Department of State’s Student Internship Program is not allowed.
